Mary Lucas has over 25 years experience in advertising and marketing management on both the client and ad agency sides. She started her marketing career in account management with J. Walter Thompson, one of the world’s leading ad agencies, in the early 1980’s. That was followed by a stint with DDB Needham Worldwide (Top 3 ad agencies in the world) before Ms. Lucas joined CORT Furniture Rental’s marketing team in the late 1980’s. While at JWT and DDB Needham Worldwide Mary worked directly with clients such as US Airways, Walt Disney Buena Vista Television, The Washington Post, US Marines, the Milk Board and Chevy Chase Bank.
As the National Director of Marketing and Sales with CORT, a Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffet) Company, she had hands on experience with advertising; strategic planning; corporate communications; and sales force/business development support including customizing training programs and development of sales collateral to support all B2B efforts. She left CORT to join her husband’s firm, PaulJLucas.com, in January 2006. Since 2006 Mary has run, on an out source basis, the marketing and business development departments for CUs while also working on various National clientele, rebrandings and name changes with her husband and consulting partner Paul Lucas. Mary also worked with CO-OP Financial Services Network in the direction of a search and final selection of a new national advertising agency for them in 2008.
